Michigan Vacation Rentals
A description of a vacation rental in Michigan is found right in the state’s own motto – it’s a "pleasant peninsula." Michigan borders Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, and Lake Huron. With so much coastline, there are many opportunities for outdoor fun in the Great Lakes State! On top of touching four out of the five Great Lakes, Michigan has over 11,000 inland lakes and 150 cascading waterfalls, ideal for hiking, canoeing, or rafting. In fact, the coastal state of Michigan is surrounded by so much water, they’ve got the only floating post office which regularly delivers mail to various ships!
Being a Northern State, Michigan has many opportunities for winter vacation rentals. This state has over 40 ski resorts and over 4,000 miles of snowmobile trails. A vacation rental in Michigan is a prime opportunity to learn how to ski, snowboard, or command a powerful dog sled!
But winter isn’t the only season celebrated in this coastal state. In summer, the population of Arcadia practically doubles as tourists flock to this vacation rental site on Lake Michigan. Arcadia provides a very quiet and remote vacation rental experience – a chance to escape the stress of everyday life. Be sure and stop by during Arcadia Days, an annual festival held during the third weekend in July. Traverse City is home to a bus-guided "color tour" to check out the beautiful fall foliage. While you’re in Traverse City, check out the Native American-owned Turtle Creek Casino. Or visit in the July for the Cherry Festival. It’s reported that Traverse City produces over 360,000,000 pounds of cherries every year!
Even the downtown capital city of Lansing shares some of Michigan’s ample natural attractions – the Grand River flows right through the middle of the city. And a tributary of the Grand River, the Red Cedar River, flows through the Michigan State University campus. This gives Lansing a small-town feel but still bursting with big-city style.
Detroit, perhaps Michigan’s most famous city, is the only city in the nation that can look south towards Canada! The Grand Haven beach has singing sands that whistles as you walk over it. And Frankfort, Michigan is home to the state’s most photographed spot, Point Betsie Lighthouse.
So from Oscoda fishing to the Ann Arbor art fair, from Dearborn’s Greenfield Village to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, Michigan is a vacation rental paradise – full of outdoor fun, surprisingly small-town atmospheres, and plenty of rich music and culture.
