British Virgin Islands Vacation Rentals

Not to be confused with the U.S. Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands offer up plenty of exciting island vacation rental opportunities themselves. Whether you’re visiting the four main islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke, or one of the 50+ smaller scenic islands, you’ll be sure to have a fantastic island vacation rental of a lifetime.

Like any island in the Caribbean, the British Virgin Islands have many opportunities for sailing, scuba diving, coastal fishing, surfing, and windsurfing. But, with only 15 of the many, many scenic islands inhabited, there are many undiscovered treasures left to be found in the British Virgin Islands. Pelican Island is home to rocky cliffs on its eastern shores that are perfect for anyone brave enough to try a little cliff-diving. Salt Island is home to the RMS Rhone shipwreck, which sank after the hurricane of 1867. And Norman Island, a privately-owned island, is home to The Blight – three caves that go so far into the rocky cliffs that swimming there feels like a night dive.

But for those who like a little more tried and true British Virgin Islands activities, there are plenty of those, too. Jost Van Dyke is home to the Great Harbour, a site with some charming shops and restaurants, and was even the location for singer Kenny Chesney’s "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem" video. Virgin Gorda is home to The Baths – a sometimes crowded but well-worth-it natural lagoon that is formed from the surrounding natural granite boulders. And Tortola has the very popular Cane Garden Bay and the Callwood Rum Distillery. For those of you who DON’T have children in tow, be sure to check out the Bomba Shack’s Full Moon Parties while you’re on Tortola Island.

The British Virgin Islands are also home to the second largest coral reef in the world – Horseshoe Reef. Horseshoe Reef is home to several endangered species like Caribbean flamingoes and Anegada Rock Iguanas.

So if you want to climb to the top of Gorda Peak, for a unique view of the scenic islands, or just lay back and relax on the Anegada beaches, there are many opportunities in the British Virgin Islands for the exact kind of fantastic island vacation rental you are hoping for.
