Argentina Vacation Fun Facts
Argentina Rentals By Owner
Argentina is a huge country that’s made up of several very different geographical regions. What’s so great about that? It means that on your Argentina vacation, you can lie on a white, sandy beach, trek through a lush rainforest, climb a snowy mountain, or swim in a forest lake. An Argentina vacation means that you can choose your adventure! Or, don’t make a decision at all and spend one day in each of the wildly different landscapes! Perhaps one of the most famous landscapes in Argentina is the Patagonia. This region, which is in the southern portion of the country, is full of beautiful lakes and rugged plains. Some of the main highlights of Patagonia include the Los Glaciares National Park, Nahuel Huapi National Park, and El Calafate. While you’re in Patagonia, be sure and pay a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier. It’s about 50 miles from El Calafate and is a major tourist destination due to its awe-inspiring beauty and the crackling sounds that the ice is constantly making. Or visit Nahuel Huapi National Park – this park is home to a large amount of Argentinean wildlife, including river otters, Maras, parakeets, and guanacos. Be sure and take a picture of the beautiful Llao Llao fungus that grows on nearby trees – it’s become a symbol for the area. A must-see on your Argentina vacation is Iguacu Falls. This massive group of waterfalls lies right on the border of Argentina and Brazil. Iguacu Falls dwarfs Niagara Falls in both height and width, causing Eleanor Roosevelt to exclaim, upon laying eyes on the natural wonder, "Poor Niagara!" There are many different attractions and walkways designed for optimum viewing, the most popular Argentinean one being the Garganta Del Diablo. To experience the Garganta Del Diablo, you take a free train, cross a walkway across the river, and find yourself staring right at the main bend in the falls, with the roar in your ears and the spray in your face. If you need to catch your breath after all that excitement, head over to the Valdes Peninsula. This peninsula is a nature reserve on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is only inhabited by the native Argentinean wildlife. There are plenty of elephant seals, sea lions, and Southern right whales to be spotted off of the Valdes Peninsula. You might be lucky enough to spy some Baleen whales giving birth right off the coast! And, finally, no vacation in Argentina can be complete without a visit to the Quebrada de Humahuaca. This narrow mountain valley is also on the UNESCO World Heritage list and is located in northwest Argentina. These gorgeous mountain landscapes are a can’t miss for you OR your camera! While you’re visiting the Quebrada de Humahuaca, be sure and check out the old fort and church remains scattered throughout the area. So basically, with all the options that Argentina offers for a fantastic and exciting vacation rental, it’s really the place to decide on when you just can’t decide! |
